Astrid HeyerdahlThe Art Gallery at Evergreen is an intimate space with a rich and solid history, continually showing mid-career to senior Canadian and international artists with a strong passion for, and dedication to, their unique practice. The Gallery is also committed to moving forward and working with innovative artists interested in expanding notions of gallery space, community practice and theory.

As the Art Gallery at Evergreen enters its 15th season, we are pleased to present a wonderful collection of exhibitions that explore such topics as local history, culture and artistic movements; symmetry and spirituality through ceramics; text and polictics.

Also in its 15th year is Emerging Talent, an exhibition created in collaboration with School District 43, which showcases the work of grade 12 students dedicated to pursuing the arts in post-secondary school. Emerging Talent XV will have new and exciting ancillary programs and anniversary celebrations that, along with the exhibition, will be sure to evoke delight in audiences of all ages as they marvel at the talent of local students.

It is very important that for each of our exhibitions, we celebrate with the artist and our community at large. Exhibition openings, held either on Thursday evenings or Sunday afternoons, are a great opportunity to meet the artists and curators, mingle with friends and share ideas about art. Our openings include free refreshments and a no-host bar.

I hope that you will visit the Art Gallery at Evergreen in our 15th season as we bring you a diverse selection of talented artists.
