Kids will lean about classic animation techniques, character development and design, filmic language and storyboarding in this exciting new camp.  Create your own videos through stop-motion in both 2D and 3D through hand drawing, claymation and camera work to bring new worlds to life and expland your knowledge of animation. NEW! DOCUMENTARY FILM MAKING (Ages 10 - 14)

Kids will explore the realm of documentary film making using state-of-the-art editing software and filming techniques. Working with professional artists, the team will create a collaborative mini-doc that will be shown to the world via YouTube and our website. Instructor: TBA

GREAT CANADIAN ARTIST SERIES III (Ages 9 - 12)

Follow Canada's great artist in this hands-on sequel to one of our most popular series. Kids will dive right in and explore some increadible legends, including Group of Seven artist Lawren Harris, contemporary artist Brian Jungen and famous BC artist Jack Shadbolt, and Vancouver's own Gathie Falk. MODERN MADNESS II (Ages 9 - 12)
March 12 - 16, 2012, 12:30 - 3pm | $115

Step into the world of the modern masters! Learn about Canadian Surrealists such as Riopelle and Borduas as well as a number of other famous Europeans including Duchamp Margritte and discover their innovative approaches to art making. Kids will think outside the box, just as these ground breaking modern masters did nearly a century before. Instructor: Judith M. Atkinson.

KIDS ON STAGE (Ages 7 - 12)
March 19 - 23, 2012, 9am - 3pm | $220

Building sets and props, making masks, scriptwriting and rehearsing for the big "world premiere" are some of the activities these kids will discover in this all-hands-on-deck camp. Also includes admission to both presentions by the Maritime Marionettes during the Spring Break week. Instructors: Wendy Anderson & Michael Charrois.
