I am deeply rooted to my immediate surroundings. All of the Home & Garden Series photographs were created at or near my Coquitlam home. Landscape offers an anchor of familiar reality within the locations I record and manipulate in these photographs. I’ll often use rules of visual perspective that mimic ways we see to bolster the sense of depth and reality in the image. This enables the viewer to build a picture in their mind, and lets me play more freely with elements of truth and illusion in the photographic compositions.
