Shashin: Japanese Canadian Studio Photography to 1942
March 28 – May 3, 2008

This exhibit looks back through a period of almost 50 years of history through the camera lens of Japanese Canadian photographers who operated studios in Cumberland, New Westminster, and Vancouver during the first half of the 20th century. The images depict diverse subjects and communities, both the elite and labourers. Curated by Grace Eiko Thomson and organized by the Japanese Canadian National Museum.

An exhibition catalogue accompanies the show and is for sale in the Gallery Shop.
