The Evergreen Cultural Centre accepts unsolicited proposals at any time.  If you would like to propose an exhibition for the art gallery at the Evergreen Cultural Centre, please be considerate of our mandate:

Exhibitions in the Art Gallery are developed as teaching tools to assist us in a visual art education program. We work primarily with students in grades K  - 12.  Our interest is to explore ideas around the creative process, and to teach visual literacy.   Exhibitions are selected and curated based on their appropriateness and versatility in this regard.

The Art Gallery is 1500 square feet with 129 running feet. There is also 72 running feet of temporary wall space (nine - 4 x 8 ft moveable walls).

We are not a commercial gallery and will not offer your artwork for sale.

HOW TO SUBMIT A PROPOSAL:
Please include in your exhibition proposal the following:

  • A cover letter summarizing the interests pursued in your work and a clear statement of your intention.
  • Biographical outline of your education, career, exhibition history, and contact information.
  • Articles or reviews that have been published about your work.
  • A one-page artist statement that discusses the work submitted, methods and techniques.
  • Digital images of work provided on a DVD or CD must be included so that the Visual Arts Committee can see and discuss your work while considering your proposal.
  • Provide a self addressed stamped envelope with enough postage to return your material. We will not be able to keep your material, or pay the cost of return shipping.
  • Regretfully, we are unable to accomodate email submissions.

We receive numerous exhibition requests throughout the year and response to proposals may take up to 3 months. The Evergreen Cultural Centre Art Gallery plans its exhibitions well in advance aiming to have an upcoming exhibition schedule in place for the next 2 years. This provides us with time to plan and organize exhibitions as well as related educational, marketing and fundraising initiatives.
